Bridge Scholarships

Bridge provides need-based scholarships and long-term mentorship to learners from marginalized communities across India who are pursuing higher education in the social sciences.

The initiative enables individuals and groups to establish scholarships for students across universities and academic programmes. Funders have the flexibility to define the scholarship's eligibility criteria, duration, and other modalities. We manage the entire process—from institutionalising the scholarship and disseminating information to selecting scholars and providing ongoing mentorship and guidance to awardees.

 

Our work is rooted in community philanthropy. We partner with alumni, professionals, and institutions who believe in democratising access to education, channelling their support to build a thriving, self-sustaining network of scholars and changemakers.

Coming  from  an  elite  educational  institute  in  my  graduation,  TISS  with  it's melting  pot  of  students  was  an  eye-opener  for  me  in  terms  of  the  relative privilege I come from. I've always wanted to give back to the institution and the student body that gave me so much in terms of perspectives and learnings, both inside and outside the classroom. Being able to support other students in accessing the rich and diverse educational experience of TISS seemed like one of the best ways  to  give back.
